Creator of the Prefects' Shield and grandmother of John (Class of 1960) and Peter Birkett (Class of 1962).
"Helen not only produced jewellery and silver, but copper work, miniatures, paintings and leather work. She was also landlady to the poet John Betjeman who stayed with her during the Second World War, whilst working in Bath. The friendship was to last until she died."
